MACHINERY SPACE OPERATING SUPERVISOR
Marinette Marine Corporation, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Coast Guard and United States Navy, as well as commercial vessels. We currently have an opportunity for a Machinery Space Operating Supervior at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
This position is for a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Machinery Space Operating Supervisor, responsible for the installation, commissiong and operation of auxiliaries in the Engine Room and Out of the Engine Room. He/she oversees and coordinates construction and operational testing of the ships's Hull Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems from initial installation through final customer acceptance. These efforts would include but not be limited to: coordinating the activities of the Marinette Marine manufacturing trades and any assigned subcontractors on board the ship, ensuring that assigned work packages and requisite testing are completed on time, on budget, and with quality results.
The Machinery Space Operating Supervisor is responsible for operation of ship's installed equipment in support of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) set-to-work activities and ship's testing He/she serves as a liaison with the subcontracted Coast Guard licensed operating crew to support ships pier side and underway operational testing periods and ensures that all rules and regulations are adhered to regarding safety environmental and export control. He/she oversees supplier QA activities too include monitoring inspections of work in progress and final inspection of completed work to ensure compliance with work specifications, American Bureau of Shipping's Naval Vessel Rules, and Ship Building Specification Requirements. Through all phases of work package development, he/she monitors and tracks funding, material procurement, and assigned product corrective action tasking.
He/she collaboratively assists the Marinette Marine Engineering Department in developing and reviewing ECN, FCN and associated construction artifact development and reviews and provides feedback on production schedules in support of ship's construction milestones. Additional duties include: assists in collecting and compiling metrics for internal and customer monitoring of manufacturing performance; provides subcontractor oversight to include monitoring progress, quality control and milestone achievement; coordinates weight tests and maintenance of required data and reports; plans and schedules accomplishment of flexible hose assemblies and maintains required data and reports, plans and schedules piping system and equipment relief valves and safety device settings; trains the workers in test and operational activities.
Qualified candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years of Naval Service in an Engineering Rating with Gas Turbine or Diesel experience, or equivalent experience. Candidates that have at lest 6 years, should have been at least an E-5/E-6, and would have underway operational experience. Operational experience with a ship's auxiliary control system is a plus. This requirement can also be met with a High School diploma at least 6 years of machinery supervisory and/or operating experience. Qualified Diesel or MGTI (Marine Gas Turbine Inspector) inspector is preferred. Navy Training or inspection Team experience a plus, i.e. ATG (Afloat Training Group), PEB (Propulsion Examining Board), INSURV (Navy Board of Inspection and Survey), SMAT (Ship's Material Assessment Team). Familiarization with Navy Maintenance Industrial availabilities to includel ROH (Regular Overhaul), PSA (Post shakedown Availability) and CMAV's (Concurrent Maintenance Availability) is a plus. Coast Guard certifications a plus. Candidates must have Microsoft Office Suites computer skills and must have strong organizational and time management skills.

We currently have an opening for experienced electricians at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
Hired candidates are eligible for a $2000 bonus after 85 days of hire.
Candidates will also be required to read and understand basic electrical engineering drawings, bills of material and parts list, inspect and correct own work and understands use of multi-meters. Experience with electrical testing is preferred. Candidates will need to understand and be able to perform installation of cable hangers, cable types, cable identification, cable pulling tecniques, stuffing tubes and packing, multi transit packing and layout, and terminal sizing. Prior shipboard electrical experience is preferred.
In addition, candidates will need to perform hookups of lighting, controller, control circuit, motor, lighting panel or power panel hookup along with being able to trouble shoot each of these areas.
Qualified candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, able to work any of our three shifts, able to work inconfined spaces and heights, and able to work in inclement weather. Must be a U.S. citizen. Candidates must be able to pass a qualification and entry level written test prior to being considered for hire.
