Title:                               Service Technician

Fabricates, tests, troubleshoots and adjusts and calibrates electromechanical devices such as medical x-ray components, electromechanical drives, mechanical and medical devices, according to blueprints, technical manuals and manufacturing specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Test assemblies for circuit continuity and operational reliability, in accordance with specifications
  • Analyzes test results and troubleshoots, repairs or adjusts devices and mechanical components using work instructions, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and assembly drawings
  • Calibrates electromechanical devices according to specifications using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers and assorted specialized equipment
  • Analyzes, repairs and troubleshoots CPM devices to meet manufacturing guidelines and specifications
  • Assembles electrical and mechanical components, according to electrical and assembly drawings
  • Maintains a neat professional appearing work area
  • Maintains an electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe workstation when handling sensitive components
  • Exercises appropriate safety precautions at all times
  • Keep records of maintenance, repairs and tests performed
  • Prepares completed assemblies for shipment in customer approved packaging
  • Support of domestic and international tradeshows as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-starter who takes the initiative to get tasks completed on time
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Quality driven
  • Requires a high degree of skill in electrical diagnostics
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when unpacking and packaging devices
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in biomedical electronics, electronics or equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn
  • Proficiency in soldering electrical components
  • Knowledge of electro-static discharge prevention
  • Proficiency in using crimping tools to fabricate or modify electrical wiring harnesses
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Ability to use common hand tools and power tools including torque wrenches
  • Ability to think and act independently when troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical devices
  • Ability to assist others in troubleshooting problems
  • Welding certification a plus or willingness to get certified.
  • Fork lift driving experience a plus

Job Title:                        Process Coach

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of workers and production areas assigned to them while promoting a customer focused, team oriented culture. Provide leadership to ensure customer satisfaction. Training and team building are vital activities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
  • Provides training for all hourly positions on the production floor
  • Ensures employees are cross trained to perform various jobs to support customer demand
  • Works with Purchasing Manager and Material Planner, monitoring inventory & shortages of parts
  • Provides backup in all aspects of manufacturing
  • Verifies work orders for accuracy and complete financial close operation
  • Reviews work order variances and submit month end report with explanations and recommendations for improvement
  • Performs mechanical and electrical tests as required
  • Performs spot inspection to work instructions and customer requirements as product is being assembled 
  • Establishes appropriate work environment that allows employees to grow and be successful
  • Accountable for on time delivery and product quality
  • Coordinates with the quality department to resolve any non-conformances
  • Participates in the Material Review Board for evaluation and approval of non-conforming part’s disposition
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces company policies and safety regulations
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of all aspects of production
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Initiates or suggests improvement plans to help workers achieve their goals
  • Sets up machines and equipment
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering in the development of work instructions
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure administration of preventive maintenance program
  • Promotes, supports and is fully engaged in 5S and continuous improvement activities
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Works well in an environment with firm deadlines
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively
  • Self driven and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills required, capable of making timely, independent decision.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
    • Ability to use electrical test equipment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Four year degree in business, engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge in the use of basic inspection tools and gages
    • Knowledge of ergonomics, safety and team building
  • Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, and Access required) with efficient use of keyboard 
  • Must have strong knowledge of planning and material management concepts
