The Small Business Initiative at NWTC, in partnership with the USDA Rural Business Development Grant, are offering technical assistance to established self-employed small business owners and entrepreneurs through “GROW Grant” funding. The “GROW Grant” program is designed to focus on assisting businesses with fewer than 10 employees and revenue under $1million dollars in the following counties:
- Florence, Kewaunee, Marinette, Oconto & Shawano
Up to twenty qualifying participants from each county will be selected to participate in this program. The series will consist of one full day of training that is followed up with a half day session approximately 4 weeks later. The first session helps participants discover the skills and talents needed for business success through an online assessment. This tool helps identify potential gaps in the businesses growth. The first session also includes developing a plan for achieving business goals through the One Page Business Planâ. A web-based program will also be made available for business owners unable to attend the in-person programming. While there is no fee to attend the training, there is a $12 fee for the online assessment.
The “GROW Grant” programming will be held on the following dates at NWTC Regional Learning Centers:
- February 21st – NWTC Shawano Campus
- March 7th – NWTC Crivitz Campus
- March 14th – NWTC Marientte Northcoast Campus
- March 21st – NWTC Oconto Falls Campus
- March 28th – NWTC Luxemburg Campus
