2017 Educational Scholarships and Award nomination forms now available - New for 2017 - Trades Scholarships
The Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce now has forms available for the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Scholarships, The Marinette Menominee Area Chamber Foundation Trade Scholarships, the H.V. Higley Scholarships and the Achievement in Education Awards.
Each year the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation awards $1000 scholarships to two graduating high school students, one in Menominee County and one in Marinette County. The scholarships are given to students who show initiative, community involvement during their high school years and two essays about the future of our area and the role they might play in that future.
The Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation will be awarding up to four $500 "Trades" scholarships to graduating high school students. The students must be from Menominee or Marinette County, plan on attending a Michigan or Wisconsin public or private college or technical college,and enrolled in classes in the areas of welding, maintenance, electrician or machinist. The scholarships are given to students who show initiative, community involvement during their high school years and complete an essay about how this investment will have a positive impact on them, their chosen industry, and on our local communities.
The Higley family established an endowment which awards two scholarships to Marinette High School graduating students. Winners are based on involvement in school and community activities during all four years of high school, as well as their essay submission.
The Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce is also seeking nominations for its Achievement in Education Awards. Judging is based on criteria such as significant contributions to education, leadership, impact on learning and government or civic involvement. Anyone may nominate an educator, member of support staff, volunteer or educational program or resource that supports education in Menominee or Marinette Counties.
