UW-Marinette Celebrates 50 Years of Higher Education
The public is invited to UW-Marinette’s annual Fall Convocation, co-sponsored by Stephenson National Bank & Trust, this year celebrating 50 years of academic excellence at the campus on the bay. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the Herbert L. Williams Theatre on the campus of UW-Marinette. Dr. Dan Kallgren will give the keynote address. A campus re-dedication ceremony featuring current Dean Paula Langteau, former Dean Sid Bremer, and UW-Marinette’s first Dean Lon Weber will take place in the circle following the convocation. A BBQ-style luncheon will be served on the promenade outside of the Fine Arts Building following the re-dedication. Bay Cities Radio will be broadcasting live from the campus during the celebration hours.
Later on that same evening, UW-Marinette and Stephenson National Bank & Trust will co-host a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event in the Main Building from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Chamber members and university alumni, faculty, staff and students are invited to an evening of networking and celebration. Refreshments provided by UW-Marinette alumni partners Forgotten Fire Winery, The Landing, and Night Owl Bakery will be served.
The UW-Marinette campus will be open for self-guided tours during the day. A special 50th Anniversary exhibit is on display in the gallery of the Fine Arts Building and current and former faculty, staff and students will be in attendance during the celebration.
